New Place, New Ministry

Woah! I just realized that I haven't really post anything here... Oh well, it's time to catch up on everything that happened.

First! The new place. After Missoula, MT, we were sent to do our ministry to Springfield, MO. (Still confused about the difference Missoula and Missouri (I mean who does not??) but we'll figure it out most likely after we leave). We actually have a lot more opportunities for the ministry here (but with College students again), then it was in Montana due the Covid restrictions.

As for now we work on 3 campuses: MSU (Missouri State University), OTC (Ozarks Technical Community College), and Drury. Apparently we're not really allowed on Campus 'cause Drury is a private school, but even with that we still have some contacts with students there.

As Missouri in general, it's very open to something new. Students here are willing to talk about their spiritual background, just talk to people (quarantine is hitting hard on people) and discover something new. Also there are students who are solid christians but don't know what to do after. Our staff team in Springfield taught us how to disciple people on growing in relationship with God and share the Good News with others.

Also our schedule looks more packed with ministry, then it was in Montana.

Each person on a gap team has 2 campuses that we're attached to. Esther and I work together on MSU and OTC. On each campus we have a day of Evangelism and a day of KV challenge (Key Volunteer Challenge).* So basically we have 2 days of Sharing and 2 days of Encouraging people to share. Also we have some weekly meetings with the staff team, on Mondays and Fridays. Monday morning is usually the Statistics on what is going to happen the coming week, and Friday morning is a debrief on how did it go. Also every meeting we have some time in Word and Prayer together as a team, which is very encouraging to see that it's important not only for yourself, but also for the ministry you're doing.

Sometimes we have a couple of "out of the schedule" event.

‣ In February we had a Winter Conference with Cru, which was basically online, but we just gathered our students all together so we can have the same experience (with a little smaller group of people that it would usually be).

‣ In March we had Students Overnight (kind of a small conference on bounding the local students all together and teaching them how to share the Gospel using different ways and tools).

When the team first got to Missouri, we learned how to use the Perspective cards to have spiritual conversations with people.
